this is a Sea Cleaner, my contribution to the Color Alliances: New Mythology project (run by the loverly SavvyPanda).
Although the colors might be a bit washed out here, I think it's still obvious that I'm on Team Orange
so, about the Sea Cleaner: they are a type of marine mammal, and although they are very adept at swimming they prefer to walk on the ocean floor. Their legs are very unproportional to their bulky upper bodies, but their large tails help them to balance when they walk. Sea Cleaners are not very social creatures when they are active during the day, but at night they retire to underwater volcanoes in groups of hundreds. They are so named because they eat mostly rubbish that collects on the sea floor, like rusty cans and old license plates, and they have been known to flock to oil spills (oil being a delicacy among their kind). But despite the fact that trash constitutes most of their diet, they prefer giant squid and shellfish.
oh, and apologies for this terrible scan- I'll have a better image than this in the near future.
My wonders never cease when on a trip through your gallery. Like this time you present a creature with its other name "Originality itself". I´ll need to see about that Color Alliance to know what it is about, first time I´v e heart about it.
Brian Froud? I'm not familiar, I must look him up... And that darker area is another fin that I added in at the last minute, which is why it looks a little wonky

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
